Fun For The Family Day & Food Drive In Southern Village

Matt-new-04 The Matt Czajkowski for Mayor campaign is pleased to present a Fun for the Family Day & Food Drive on the Village Green in Southern Village on Sunday, November 1st from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Highlights of the afternoon’s event will be a performance by the popular musical group, ‘Southern Routes’, a variety of activities for children, and a food drive to support The IFC Food Kitchen.

Matt-new-03 On Friday, my campaign filed a report notifying the State Board of Elections that we have raised over $23,000 from more than 200 donors whose contributions range in size from $10 to $250. I am deeply grateful for the generosity of all of those who have donated to my campaign and the faith they have placed in my campaign for Mayor of Chapel Hill. I will continue to do my best to be worthy of their support, and make their voices heard in Chapel Hill.

What I Believe

Matt-believe2 The majority of voters in Chapel Hill have felt for some time the Town Council has not represented their interests, has become insular and disconnected from the community at large. It is time for new leadership in Chapel Hill, at this juncture in our Town’s history, to pave the way for critical changes to the economic health, vitality and diversity of our community. This is why I am running for Mayor.

Why I Am Running

Matt-running3 Chapel Hill is at a critical juncture. There is broad unhappiness with many of the Council’s policies and a groundswell of support for change. Chapel Hill needs a Mayor who has demonstrated he is willing to take a fresh approach to the challenges we face. During my time on the Council, I have proven that as Mayor I will take a consistently balanced and practical approach. I have also shown that I will insist on transparency in Council discussions such as when I demanded a public discussion of the Council’s proposal to give itself lifetime healthcare benefits. I was the lone vote in opposition until the resulting public outcry caused the Council to reverse its decision.
